CSS
(1)
nn
1 This parameter is valid only when the logical channel-subsystem facility is installed on your
processor.
Privilege Class: B
Use QUERY LPARS to list all the logical partitions (LPARs) defined to the processor
and to display which LPAR is currently active, or to list all of the LPARs that have
access to a particular channel-subsystem image.
CSS nn
is the channel-subsystem ID for which you want partition access information.
The variable nn must be a 1- to 2-digit hexadecimal number between X'00' and
X'0F'. Your machine is likely to support less than 16 channel-subsystem images.
Note: This parameter requires that the logical channel-subsystem facility be
installed.
1. If your system runs on a processor that does not provide dynamic I/O support,
this command will not complete successfully.
2. For more information about logical partitions (LPARs), see the z/VM: CP
Planning and Administration book.
Response 1 (non-LCSS system, LPAR mode):
To display information about the logical partitions on your processor when there is
no logical channel-subsystem facility installed, enter the following:
query lpars
Partitions on your machine:
Active partition: ZVMLPAR1 Partition number: 1
Partition name: ZVMLPAR2 Partition number: 2
Partition name: ZOSLPAR1 Partition number: 3
Partition name: ZOSLPAR2 Partition number: 4
Ready;
This response tells you that you have 4 partitions and that the partition processing
this command is ZVMLPAR1.
Response 2 (LCSS system):
