Use QUERY LINES to display the status of real communication lines.<br />

ACTive<br />

indicates active communication lines. An active device is one in use by a user<br />

or the system <strong>and</strong> specified as neither FREE nor OFFLINE.<br />

ALL<br />

indicates all communication lines attached to the system. The status is<br />

displayed in ACTIVE, FREE, <strong>and</strong> OFFLINE order <strong>and</strong> is equivalent to the<br />

response you would receive if you entered all of the following comm<strong>and</strong>s:<br />

query lines active<br />

query lines free<br />

query lines offline<br />

QUERY LINES<br />

ATTach userid<br />

indicates the communication lines that are dedicated to a user on the system. If<br />

you specify userid, only lines attached to that user’s virtual machine are<br />

indicated. If you do not specify userid, you receive the status of all lines<br />

dedicated to any user on the system. Attached devices are always active.<br />

BOXed<br />

indicates the communication lines that are unavailable (usually because of a<br />

hardware condition). A boxed line may also be active, free, or offline.<br />

FREe<br />

indicates all free communication lines. A free line is one that is not currently in<br />

use by a user or the system <strong>and</strong> is specified as neither ACTIVE nor OFFLINE.<br />

OFFline<br />

indicates all offline communication lines. An offline communication line is one<br />

specified as neither ACTIVE nor FREE.<br />

1. The QUERY LINES, QUERY LINKS, <strong>and</strong> QUERY VIRTUAL LINES comm<strong>and</strong>s<br />

share the two possible abbreviations "LI" <strong>and</strong> "LIN". If you are authorized to<br />

issue these comm<strong>and</strong>s, it is recommended that you specify at least 4 character<br />
