Use the QUERY DASDFW comm<strong>and</strong> to display the DASD fast write status of<br />

devices attached to cache storage subsystems.<br />

rdev<br />

rdev1-rdev2<br />

is the real device number, a list of real device numbers, or a range of real<br />

device numbers of the devices being queried.<br />

1. The QUERY DASDFW comm<strong>and</strong> is only valid for cache storage subsystems<br />

that support the DASD fast write function. An error message is generated if the<br />

specified subsystem does not support this function.<br />

2. Caching for RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) technology DASD<br />

such as the Enterprise Storage Server (supported under <strong>VM</strong> in 3990 emulation<br />

mode) is always active. It cannot be modified by the user.<br />

3. This comm<strong>and</strong> may be issued to offline devices.<br />

Response 1:<br />

rdev DASD fast write function {is active. }<br />

{is inactive. }<br />

{destaging has failed.}<br />

{is suspended. }<br />

This response is repeated for each specified device when you enter the QUERY<br />

DASDFW comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

rdev<br />

is the real device number of a device being queried.<br />

is active<br />

indicates that the DASD fast write function is active for the device.<br />

is inactive<br />

indicates that the DASD fast write function is inactive for the device.<br />

QUERY DASDFW<br />

destaging has failed<br />

indicates that deactivation of DASD fast write is pending because transfer of<br />

modified data to DASD has failed.<br />
