volume operates as a PPRC Extended Distance primary volume, sending to a
tertiary volume many miles away. Such a configuration supports disaster
recovery operations.
If the queried DASD is not an active PPRC volume the PPRC DETAILS line is not
included in the response.
Response 8:
HCP002E Invalid operand - operand
HCP003E Invalid option - option
HCP006E Invalid device type - rdev
HCP009E Invalid range - range
HCP020E Userid missing or invalid
HCP021E A real device number was not
specified or it is invalid.
HCP040E Device rdev does not exist
If you enter QUERY DASD DETAILS for an FBA DASD, such as a 9336 model 20,
you see something like this:
query dasd details 600
0600 CUTYPE = 6310-80, DEVTYPE = 9336-10, VOLSER = L3RES, CYLS = 16
BLKS = 34504
Ready;
This response tells you the DASD at real device number 600 has a control unit type
of 6310-80, a device type of 9336-10, a volume serial number of L3RES, and
contains 34,504 512-byte blocks. The number of cylinders displayed (e.g., CYLS =
16) is a calculated value derived from:
total number of blocks / number of blocks per access position
For the control unit type and the device type, the last two digits of each are hex
codes for the associated models. See the device documentation to determine the
models for the hex codes given.
HCP263E Too many operands were supplied for
