ASSOCiated
tells CP to display all the valid message repository languages available on the
system, their component names, and their external symbols, if any.
If omitted, CP displays all the valid languages in which CP can display control
program messages to your virtual machine.
1. When you specify the ASSOCIATED operand, CP displays message repository
information: language identifiers, component identifiers, and external symbol
names. This information was associated with the message repositories using
the ASSOCIATE MESSAGES or MSGS command (page 23).
2. For more information about user-defined message repositories, see the z/VM:
CP Exit Customization book.
3. The system default language is the language that is specified in the system
configuration file, or the language that was specified by the operator using the
SYSTEM operand of the SET CPLANGUAGE command. If neither of these was
specified, then the language is the one built into the CP nucleus.
4. If you change the system default language, the response to QUERY
CPLANGLIST shows the new system default language. If the user is using the
system default language, the user’s current language will not change until the
user either logs off and logs back on, or issues the CP SET CPLANGUAGE
command or CMS SET LANGUAGE command to switch to the new system
default language.
