QUERY CONTROLLER
720 z/VM: CP Commands and Utilities Reference
address used to attach the OSA Express devices is the same as the real device
address identified by the virtual switch’s RDEV option.
Failover disabled
indicates that the TCP/IP stack machine has been configured so that CP does
not perform timestamp checking. Timestamp checking is used to confirm that
the TCP/IP stack is responding, and it has been disabled in this instance.
Stalled
indicates the TCP/IP stack machine is not responding in a timely manner. Use
the FAILOVER_DISABLED option on the TCP/IP VSWITCH CONTROLLER
configuration statement if you need to do tracing or debug for the TCP/IP stack
machine that might result in slow response time. See z/VM: TCP/IP Planning
and Customization for additional information.
Capability
indicates if the virtual switch controller can initialize an OSA Express device in
IP and ETHERNET modes, and register IP addresses on the OSA Express with
the proper VLAN groups (VLAN_ARP).
Primary
indicates that the device is the current active connection for the virtual switch.
Backup
indicates that some initialization has been done so that error recovery can
happen more quickly if the primary device has a problem.
Controller: *
indicates that a different z/VM TCP/IP stack takes over in case there is a
problem with the current virtual switch controller.
VDEV: nnnn
shows the virtual address at which the device is connected to the TCP/IP stack.
