Use QUERY CHPID to display the following:<br />

v All devices with logical channel path yy installed<br />

v Logical path status as it pertains to those devices (online, offline, or quiesced).<br />

Use QUERY CHPID yy PCHID to display the physical channel identifier associated<br />

with CHPID yy.<br />

Use QUERY CHPID yy TYPE to display the channel path type of CHPID yy.<br />

yy is the logical channel path whose device allocation information is requested.<br />

The variable yy must be a 1- to 2-digit hexadecimal number between X'00' <strong>and</strong><br />

X'FF'.<br />

PCHID<br />

requests the display of the physical channel identifier associated with CHPID<br />

yy.<br />

Note: This parameter is valid only when your processor is capable of logical<br />

channel-subsystem support.<br />

TYpe<br />

requests the display of the channel path type of CHPID yy.<br />

1. The QUERY CHPID comm<strong>and</strong> shows all devices associated with a specific<br />

logical channel path. For information about physical channel paths, use the<br />

QUERY CHPIDS comm<strong>and</strong>. (See page 708.) For information about logical <strong>and</strong><br />

physical channel paths associated with a specific device, use the QUERY<br />

PATHS comm<strong>and</strong>. (See page 918.)<br />

2. If a device has never been initialized, its path information is not available <strong>and</strong>,<br />

therefore, cannot be included in the comm<strong>and</strong> response.<br />

3. Internal channel path types such as internal-queued-direct-communications<br />

(IQD) channels <strong>and</strong> internal-coupling-peer (I<strong>CP</strong>) channels are not associated<br />

with physical channel paths (PCHIDs).<br />

To display all the devices on path 1A, enter:<br />

query chpid 1a<br />
