message text.<br />

1. If a message is issued from a CMS environment, the comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> the<br />

message text cannot be longer than 240 characters.<br />

If the message is issued from a <strong>CP</strong> environment, the comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> message<br />

length is limited by the input area of the terminal.<br />

2. If cross system messages are active among systems in a CSE complex, <strong>and</strong> if<br />

MSGNOH ALL AT ALL is entered, the message is sent to every user on every<br />

system that is receiving messages.<br />

3. If cross system messages are active among systems in a CSE complex, the<br />

default for this comm<strong>and</strong> is AT ALL. The default is AT * if:<br />

v The user ID cited in the oper<strong>and</strong> userid is OPerator or ALL<br />

v The user ID cited in the oper<strong>and</strong> userid is logged onto the same system as<br />

the issuer of the comm<strong>and</strong><br />

v The user ID cited in the oper<strong>and</strong> userid or the comm<strong>and</strong> issuer is in the CSE<br />

exclusion list.<br />

4. If an external security manager (ESM) is installed on your system, you may not<br />

be authorized to enter this comm<strong>and</strong>. However, messages sent to or from the<br />

system operator <strong>and</strong> messages sent with the ALL option are not subject to<br />

authorization checking by the ESM. For additional information, contact your<br />

security administrator.<br />
