MONITOR EVENT<br />

SCHeduler USERID userid<br />

specifies a list of users that will be enabled or disabled for event data collection<br />

in the SCHEDULER domain. userid is a list of 1 or more user IDs, separated by<br />

blanks.<br />

SEEKS<br />

specifies that the SEEKS domain will be enabled or disabled for event data<br />

collection. A SEEKS domain is comprised of all architected DASD devices.<br />

Event data, which include DASD positioning, are collected on every I/O request<br />

on such enabled DASD devices. You may enable or disable all or specified<br />

devices in the SEEKS domain. You can restrict them by their device numbers,<br />

types, or volumes. Event data are collected on every I/O request on such<br />

enabled DASDs.<br />

SEEKS ALL<br />

specifies that all real DASDs will be enabled or disabled for event data<br />

collection in the SEEKS domain.<br />

SEEKS DEVice rdev<br />

SEEKS DEVice rdev1-rdev2<br />

specifies the DASDs to be enabled or disabled for event data collection in the<br />

SEEKS domain. You may specify the device number of a single device; you can<br />

also specify a list, a range of devices, or a combination of both. If you specify a<br />

range, all valid DASD devices in the range, inclusively, are enabled or disabled.<br />

See the specific SEEKS usage notes for additional information.<br />

SEEKS TYpe type<br />

specifies a list of DASD types that will be enabled or disabled for event data<br />

collection in the SEEKS domain. type is a list of one or more device types (such<br />

as a 3380), separated by blanks. All DASDs of the specified type or types are<br />

monitored. For valid device types, see Table 16 on page 623.<br />

SEEKS VOLume volid<br />

SEEKS VOLume <strong>CP</strong>VOL<br />

specifies a list of volumes that will be enabled or disabled for event data<br />

collection in the SEEKS domain. volid is a list of one or more volume identifiers,<br />

separated by blanks. If <strong>CP</strong>VOL is specified, all <strong>CP</strong>-owned volumes are enabled<br />

or disabled. A <strong>CP</strong>-owned volume is any volume specified on the <strong>CP</strong>_OWNED<br />

statement in the system configuration file. For devices identified by DEVNO,<br />

you cannot use the volume option of Monitor. The volume option can only be<br />

used for devices identified by VOLSER.<br />

STORage<br />

specifies that the STORAGE domain will be enabled or disabled for event data<br />

collection. Events such as defining <strong>and</strong> purging of a named saved system or a<br />

saved segment, or attaching, or detaching a <strong>CP</strong> volume are monitored.<br />

USER<br />

specifies that the USER domain will be enabled or disabled for event data<br />

collection. A USER domain is comprised of all users. All or selected users may<br />

be specified for monitoring. USER domain events include such activities as<br />

logon <strong>and</strong> logoff, defining <strong>and</strong> detaching a virtual <strong>CP</strong>U, <strong>and</strong> an end of<br />

transaction.<br />

USER ALL<br />

specifies that all users will be enabled or disabled for event data collection in<br />

the USER domain.<br />
