MODIFY PRIV_CLASSES<br />

Use MODIFY PRIV_CLASSES to change the privilege classes authorizing the<br />

following <strong>CP</strong> functions:<br />

v Logging on as the primary system operator<br />

v Intensive error recording<br />

v Using the read function of the <strong>CP</strong> IO<strong>CP</strong> utility<br />

v Using the write function of the <strong>CP</strong> IO<strong>CP</strong> utility<br />

v Specifying the default user class.<br />

HW_Service<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> to change the privilege classes authorized to perform intensive error<br />

recording.<br />

IO<strong>CP</strong>_Read<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> to change the privilege classes authorized to use the read function of<br />

the IO<strong>CP</strong> utility. (For more information about the IO<strong>CP</strong> utility, see the z/<strong>VM</strong>: <strong>CP</strong><br />

<strong>Comm<strong>and</strong>s</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Utilities</strong> <strong>Reference</strong> book.)<br />

IO<strong>CP</strong>_Write<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> to change the privilege classes authorized to use the write function of<br />

the IO<strong>CP</strong> utility. (For more information about the IO<strong>CP</strong> utility, see the z/<strong>VM</strong>: <strong>CP</strong><br />

<strong>Comm<strong>and</strong>s</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Utilities</strong> <strong>Reference</strong> book.)<br />

OPERator<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> to change the privilege classes which are for the primary system<br />

operator.<br />

USER_DEFault<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> to change the privilege classes that are defined for users who do not<br />

have a class specified in their directory entries.<br />

RESET<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> to reset the privilege clases to their original default settings.<br />

classes<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> which class or classes are to be set. The variable classes is a 1- to<br />

8-character alphanumeric string from A through Z <strong>and</strong> from 0 to 6.<br />

1. The configuration file statement PRIV_CLASSES can be used to establish initial<br />

values.<br />
