Use LOGON or LOGIN to identify yourself to the host system <strong>and</strong> access it.<br />

userid<br />

is the identifier assigned to you in the system directory.<br />

password<br />

is the logon password for your user ID. It is kept in the system directory. <strong>CP</strong><br />

accepts passwords as long as 40 characters (see usage note 13 on page 581).<br />

Refer to usage note 4 on page 581 for details about when this oper<strong>and</strong> cannot<br />

be used.<br />

ACcount nnnnnnnn<br />

specifies an alternate account number to be assigned to your virtual machine at<br />

logon time. This account number must be valid in order for the LOGON<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> to be completed successfully. If you do not specify this option, the<br />

primary (or first) account number specified in your entry in the system directory<br />

is used.<br />

APL<br />

specifies that upon successful completion of the user logon, the control program<br />

is to use an APL or TEXT translation table for translating console input <strong>and</strong><br />

output rather than the st<strong>and</strong>ard translation table. This option of the LOGON<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> provides the same function as the TERMINAL APL ON or the<br />

TERMINAL TEXT ON comm<strong>and</strong>s.<br />

HERE<br />

Specifies that if this user ID is already logged on, it should be disconnected<br />

from its current terminal <strong>and</strong> reconnected at the terminal where this logon is<br />

requested.<br />

BY byuserid<br />

Specifies a BYUSER for the user ID. The password of the BYUSER is used for<br />
