Purpose<br />

Privilege Class: C, E<br />

The LOCATE comm<strong>and</strong> is provided to enable you to perform <strong>CP</strong> problem diagnosis.<br />

Use LOCATE to display the addresses of control information within <strong>CP</strong>. You can use<br />

the LOCATE comm<strong>and</strong> to find the addresses of:<br />

v A comm<strong>and</strong>’s <strong>CP</strong> comm<strong>and</strong> table entry block (CMDBK)<br />

v A DIAGNOSE code’s diagnose control block (DGNBK)<br />

v A user’s spool file identification entry (FILID)<br />

v A system frame table entry (FRMTABLE)<br />

v An exit point’s indirect call locator block (ICLBK)<br />

v A system logical device block (LDEV)<br />

v A system real device block (RDEV)<br />

v A system shared system name block (SHPBK)<br />

v A user’s spool file block (SPFBK)<br />

v A system SNA control block (SNABK)<br />

v Data within <strong>CP</strong>’s real storage (Storage)<br />

v Data within <strong>CP</strong>’s system execution space (Storage)<br />

v A system external symbol address (SYMBOL)<br />

v A user’s virtual device block (VDEV)<br />

v A user’s virtual machine definition block (<strong>VM</strong>DBK)<br />

v A system VTAM service machine block (VSMBK)<br />

v An exit point’s exit control block (XITBK).<br />
