Use LINK to make a device associated with another virtual machine available to<br />

your virtual machine configuration.<br />

userid<br />

is the user ID in the system directory whose entry is to be searched for device<br />

vdev1. If you omit the TO oper<strong>and</strong>, you cannot specify userid as T or TO.<br />

* indicates that your devices are to be searched for device vdev1.<br />

vdev1<br />

is the specified user’s virtual device number, as defined in the user’s entry in<br />

the system directory.<br />

vdev2<br />

is the virtual device number that is to be assigned to the device for your virtual<br />

machine configuration.<br />

mode<br />

is the link mode. Valid modes are:<br />

R Read-only link. A read link is established, unless another user has an<br />

existing write or exclusive mode link to the disk.<br />

RR Read-only link. A read link is established, unless another user has an<br />

existing exclusive mode link. This is the default.<br />

W Write link. A write link is established, unless another user has an<br />

existing link (any mode) to the disk.<br />

WR Write link. A write link is established unless another user has an existing<br />

link (any mode) to the disk. If the write link is denied, a read link is<br />

established unless another user has an existing exclusive mode link for<br />

the disk.<br />

M Multiple-write link. A write link is established unless another user has an<br />

existing write, stable, or exclusive mode link to the disk.<br />

MR Multiple-write link. A write link is established unless another user has an<br />
