v From register 1 through register 15 if you are dumping general, control, or<br />

access registers<br />

v From register 1 through register 6 (or 0 through 15 if floating-point extensions<br />

are available) if you are dumping floating-point registers.<br />

END<br />

. regcount<br />

regcount is a decimal number from 1 to 16 or a hexadecimal number from 1 to<br />

F specifying the number of registers (starting with register 1) whose contents<br />

are to be dumped. If you specify G, GG, GH, X, XG, XH, or AR, regcount can<br />

be a decimal number from 1 to 16 or a hexadecimal number from 1 to F.<br />

If dump type Y is specified, regcount must be 1, 2, 3, or 4 (or 0 through 15 if<br />

floating-point extensions are available).<br />

The sum of reg1 <strong>and</strong> regcount must be a number that does not exceed the<br />

maximum register number for the type of registers being dumped.<br />

Specify END to dump the contents of all remaining registers. END is the<br />

default. The remaining registers are as follows:<br />

v From register 1 through register 15, if you are dumping general, control, or<br />

access registers<br />

v From register 1 through register 7 (or 0 through 15 if floating-point extensions<br />

are available), if you are dumping floating-point registers.<br />

*dumpid<br />

is an asterisk followed by a 1- to 97-character identifier that is to be assigned to<br />

the dump (may be truncated to 80 characters for a z/Architecture guest). If<br />

specified, *dumpid must be the last oper<strong>and</strong> you enter on the comm<strong>and</strong> line.<br />

1. The G <strong>and</strong> X oper<strong>and</strong>s are valid for an ESA/390, ESA/XC, or z/Architecture<br />

guest. For an ESA/390 or ESA/XC guest, these oper<strong>and</strong>s refer to the full<br />

four-byte register. For a z/Architecture guest, these oper<strong>and</strong>s refer to the<br />

low-order four bytes of the full eight-byte register.<br />

2. The GG <strong>and</strong> XG oper<strong>and</strong>s are valid for an ESA/390, ESA/XC, or z/Architecture<br />

guest. For an ESA/390 or ESA/XC guest, these oper<strong>and</strong>s refer to the full<br />

four-byte register. For a z/Architecture guest, these oper<strong>and</strong>s refer to the full<br />

eight-byte register.<br />

3. The GH <strong>and</strong> XH oper<strong>and</strong>s are valid only for a z/Architecture guest. These<br />

oper<strong>and</strong>s refer to the high-order four bytes of the full eight-byte register.<br />

4. When a dash (-), colon (:), or period (.) is not preceded by a register number,<br />

the first register number defaults to 0. When a dash, colon, or period is not<br />

followed by a register number, the last register defaults to END.<br />

is the response that is sent to the virtual printer when you dump the general<br />

registers using D G or D GG from an ESA/390 or ESA/XC guest. nn indicates the<br />

first (or only) register whose contents are dumped.
