The specified access register is used, in the same manner as if the AREGareg.<br />

oper<strong>and</strong> had been specified, in conjunction with guest access-registertranslation<br />

tables to locate the guest address space.<br />

INDEXnn<br />

dumps the contents of guest storage using the specified starting address<br />

(hexloc1) as a displacement from the address in the specified register. The<br />

specified register may be a decimal number from 0 to 15 or a hexadecimal<br />

number from 0 to F.<br />

% indicates 31-bit address indirection. Indirection means that the contents of the<br />

specified address are used instead of the address itself. In this case, the 31 bits<br />

at the specified address (the high-order bit is turned off) are used as the new<br />

address for the Dump comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

& indicates 64-bit address indirection. Indirection means that the contents of the<br />

specified address are used instead of the address itself. In this case, the 64 bits<br />

at the specified address are used as the new address for the Dump comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

The indirect address specified here (following INDEX <strong>and</strong> BASE) is determined<br />

after BASE <strong>and</strong> INDEX are applied.<br />

A maximum of 16 indirection characters can be specified.<br />

*dumpid<br />

is an asterisk followed by a 1- to 97-character identifier that is to be assigned to<br />

the dump. If specified, dumpid must be the last oper<strong>and</strong> you enter on the<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> line.<br />

1. The DUMP GUEST STORAGE comm<strong>and</strong> dumps the program status words<br />

(PSWs), <strong>and</strong> the contents of registers (general, floating-point, control, <strong>and</strong><br />

prefix), along with the contents of the specified storage. If your virtual machine<br />

is an ESA virtual machine, the subchannel information blocks (SCHIBs) <strong>and</strong><br />

the access registers are dumped. If you define a Vector Facility, the vector<br />

registers (VR), vector register pairs (VP), vector status register (VSR), vector<br />

mask register (<strong>VM</strong>R), vector activity count (VAC), <strong>and</strong> vector section size<br />

(VSS) are dumped. If you have an ICRF defined <strong>and</strong> are in ESA mode, the<br />

crypto domain index register is dumped.<br />

2. You can dump storage locations outside the range of your virtual machine size<br />

if they are within a saved segment. Any attempt to dump locations (or<br />

associated keys) between the upper limit of your virtual machine <strong>and</strong> the<br />

address at which the saved segment is saved causes the “nonaddressable<br />

storage” response to appear in the printed output.<br />

3. The oper<strong>and</strong>s HOME, AREGareg., ALEThexword., <strong>and</strong> ALEThexword.ALraddr.<br />

are valid only if the virtual machine is an ESA virtual machine.<br />

4. When you use the oper<strong>and</strong> ALEThexword.ALraddr., the primary list bit in the<br />

ALET is ignored.<br />

5. The oper<strong>and</strong>s L, PRI, SECO, HOME, ASTEraddr., STDhexword., ASNasn.,<br />

AREGareg., ALEThexword., <strong>and</strong> ALEThexword.ALraddr. use the<br />

access-register-translation (ART), the ASN translation <strong>and</strong> the<br />

dynamic-address-translation (DAT) processes. These contain special case<br />

translation processes:<br />

v ALET 0 always indicates the current primary address space designated by<br />

the STD in guest control register 1, regardless of the current contents of the<br />

dispatchable unit access list.
