Response 1:<br />

DIALED TO userid vdev<br />

is the response sent to the user indicating that a logical connection has been<br />

established.<br />

userid<br />

identifies the virtual machine in which the multiple-access operating system that<br />

you want to use is running.<br />

vdev<br />

identifies the virtual device number of the terminal to which the dialed<br />

connection has been made.<br />

Response 2:<br />

{type {rdev} } DIALED TO userid DIALED = nnnnn [FROM ipadr]<br />

{ {ldev} }<br />

{luname }<br />

is the response sent to the primary system operator. It indicates a successful<br />

connection to the virtual machine (userid) <strong>and</strong> the total number of terminals (nnnnn)<br />

currently connected to other virtual machines.<br />

type<br />

identifies the user’s terminal device type.<br />

rdev<br />

ldev<br />

identifies the real or logical device number of your console.<br />

luname<br />

identifies a SNA/CCS terminal controlled by a VTAM service machine. It is the<br />

name from the VTAM definition of the terminal as an SNA logical unit.<br />

FROM ipadr<br />

identifies the IP address.<br />

An IPv4 address is displayed in dotted-decimal format.<br />

Example: 9.130.44.144<br />

An IPv6 address is displayed in compressed format (“::” designates multiple<br />

16-bit groups of zeros).<br />

Example: The following is an IPv6 address:<br />

F802:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0A00:0001<br />

This address is displayed in compressed format as:<br />

F802::A00:1<br />

Response 3:<br />

DROP FROM userid vdev<br />

is the message sent to the user when the display is reset.<br />

The system additionally responds with one of the following, depending on the type<br />

of terminal being used:<br />
