Use the DETACH VSWITCH comm<strong>and</strong> to remove the designated virtual switch from<br />

the <strong>CP</strong> system, uncouple any virtual adapters using the virtual switch, <strong>and</strong> release<br />

system resources associated with it.<br />

switchname<br />

is the name of the virtual switch. The switchname is a single token of 1–8<br />

alphanumeric characters.<br />

1. Only a Class B user can DETACH a virtual switch.<br />

2. Any virtual network adapter coupled to the virtual switch receives an indication<br />

that the LAN has stopped functioning.<br />

1. To detach virtual switch BIGANG from the system, enter the following:<br />

detach vswitch bigang<br />

Response 1:<br />

VSWITCH SYSTEM switchname is destroyed<br />

This is the normal response for this comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

Response 2:<br />

NIC vdev disconnected from VSWITCH SYSTEM switchname<br />

DETACH VSWITCH<br />

This is the response when a virtual network adapter connected to a virtual switch is<br />

detached.<br />
