Privilege Class: B, G
Use DETACH LAN to eliminate a VM LAN segment from the CP system. This
operation removes the designated LAN from the System LAN Table, disconnects
any virtual adapters using the LAN, and releases system resources associated with
the LAN. In general, this command must be issued by the owner of the LAN.
The Class B form of the command allows the invoker to remove a LAN owned by
another user. Only a Class B user can specify OWNERid SYSTEM (removing a
SYSTEM LAN).
lanname
is the name of the VM LAN segment to be eliminated. Both lanname and
ownerid must be known to fully qualify a LAN.
OWNERid *
OWNERid ownerid
OWNERid SYSTEM
specifies the owner of the LAN. When OWNERid * is specified, it indicates the
invoker is the owner of the LAN. This is the default when OWNERid is omitted.
The Class G form of the command only accepts * or the user ID of the invoker.
The Class B form of the command accepts another user ID (like OWNERid
SYSTEM).
1. Only the current owner of the LAN, or a Class B user, can DETACH the LAN.
2. Any virtual network adapter that is connected to the LAN when it is detached is
automatically uncoupled.
