1 The old form of this operand, CFS, is still supported for compatibility.
Use DELETE DEVICE or IODEVICE to delete one or more existing real devices
from the I/O configuration.
rdev
rdev1-rdev2
is the real device number (or range of real device numbers) of the device that
you want to delete. Each rdev must be a 1- to 4-digit hexadecimal number
between X'0000' and X'FFFF'.
UNIT_Address nn
UNITADD nn
is the starting unit address associated with the device that you want to delete.
The variable nn must be a 1- to 2-digit hexadecimal number between X'00' and
X'FF'.
TYpe CF
tells CP that the specified devices are attached to a control unit that connects to
coupling facility channel paths. Coupling facility channel paths include coupling
facility sender (CFS), coupling facility receiver (CFR), coupling facility peer
(CFP), cluster bus sender (CBS), cluster bus receiver (CBR), cluster bus peer
(CBP), or internal coupling peer (ICP) channel paths.
CU_number nnnn
CUNUMBR nnnn
is the number of one of the control units associated with the device that you are
deleting. The variable nnnn must be a 1- to 4-digit hexadecimal number
between X'0000' and X'FFFE'.
CSS nn
is the channel-subsystem ID from which the device is to be deleted. The
variable nn must be a 1- to 2-digit hexadecimal number between X'00' and
X'0F'.
