Use DEFINE SUBSTITUTE to define which virtual machine is actually used as the
target for IUCV communication requests addressed to a specified alias user
identifier.
alias
is the substitute to be defined. The alias may not be the user identifier of a
virtual machine that is defined in the CP User Directory.
userid
specifies the user identifier for which the substitute is to be set or cleared.
OFF
removes the substitute for the user.
DEFINE SUBSTITUTE
1. A substitute may be used to refer to a virtual machine by another name (user
identifier) for the purposes of inter-machine communication using IUCV. Any
communications addressed to the substitute will be redirected to the specified
virtual machine.
2. A substitute may be defined or removed for a virtual machine regardless of
whether it is logged on. If a substitute is removed, existing IUCV communication
paths that were established using it are not affected.
