IO<strong>CP</strong><br />

Usage Notes<br />

DESC1 string<br />

indicates that you want the specified string to be stored in the first<br />

descriptor field of the hardware configuration token. The string can be up to<br />

eight characters <strong>and</strong> cannot contain blanks.<br />

DESC2 string<br />

indicates that you want the specified string to be stored in the second<br />

descriptor field of the hardware configuration token. The string can be up to<br />

eight characters <strong>and</strong> cannot contain blanks.<br />

2. You need privilege class B to use the DYN option. See the IO<strong>CP</strong> User’s Guide<br />

for your processor. For a list of books, see usage note 1.<br />

3. If the IO<strong>CP</strong> front-end exec terminates without invoking the IO<strong>CP</strong> program, an<br />

error return code of the format (1000+nnn) is generated. The nnn value provides<br />

additional information about the problem that was encountered:<br />

999 The <strong>CP</strong> QUERY TOKEN comm<strong>and</strong> was not recognized. We cannot<br />

obtain the information needed to build the hardware configuration token.<br />

Verify that your privilege class is correct <strong>and</strong> that the <strong>CP</strong> QUERY<br />

TOKEN comm<strong>and</strong> is available <strong>and</strong> enabled on your system.<br />

sss Changes to the IO<strong>CP</strong> file could not be saved. This value is the error<br />

return code received from the XEDIT SAVE comm<strong>and</strong>. See the z/<strong>VM</strong>:<br />

XEDIT <strong>Comm<strong>and</strong>s</strong> <strong>and</strong> Macros <strong>Reference</strong> book for additional<br />

information as to the nature of the problem.<br />

The IO<strong>CP</strong> program will also generate return codes. For details on the return<br />

codes, see the IO<strong>CP</strong> User’s Guide for your processor. For a list of books, see<br />

usage note 1.
