is the cylinder or page range <strong>and</strong> total number of cylinders or pages that are<br />

allocated for each corresponding type. You are then prompted to update the<br />

allocation map as follows:<br />

For each cylinder or page range that you want to reallocate, you enter one line of<br />

allocation data. You should not allocate cylinder 0 as TDSK, although this, too, is<br />

allowed.<br />

Note: Used by itself, END has a meaning as in the definition that follows this note.<br />

When used after sext, it has a different meaning.<br />

END<br />

indicates that you have completed entering your allocation data.<br />

DRCT<br />

indicates that the corresponding cylinders or pages are to be allocated as space<br />

for directory files.<br />

PAGE<br />

indicates that the corresponding cylinders or pages are to be allocated as space<br />

to be used solely for system paging activity.<br />

PARM<br />

indicates that the following cylinders or pages specify the location of a<br />

CMS-formatted minidisk that contains the System Configuration files.<br />

PERM<br />

indicates that the corresponding cylinders or pages are to be allocated as space<br />

for <strong>CP</strong> user minidisks, checkpoint, warm start, <strong>and</strong> other static space.<br />

SPOL<br />

indicates that the corresponding cylinders or pages are to be allocated as space<br />

for spooling, dump space, or overflow paging activity.<br />

TDSK<br />

indicates that the corresponding cylinders or pages are to be allocated as<br />

temporary disk space, which will become available to users after they log onto<br />

the system.<br />
