Use DEFINE CHANNEL-TO-CHANNEL ADAPTER (CTCA) to define a CTCA for<br />

your virtual machine configuration.<br />

CTCa<br />

indicates you are defining a channel-to-channel adapter for your virtual<br />

machine.<br />

3088<br />

indicates you are defining a channel-to-channel adapter for your virtual machine<br />

to emulate a 3088 device.<br />

SCTC<br />

indicates you are defining a channel-to-channel adapter for your virtual machine<br />

to emulate an ESCON CTCA in St<strong>and</strong>ard mode.<br />

BCTC<br />

indicates you are defining a channel-to-channel adapter for your virtual machine<br />

to emulate an ESCON CTCA in Basic mode.<br />

CNC<br />

indicates you are defining a channel-to-channel adapter for your virtual machine<br />

to emulate an ESCON CTCA with no controller (the CNC device must be<br />

coupled to an SCTC or BCTC adapter to be fully functional).<br />

FCTC<br />

indicates you are defining a channel-to-channel adapter for your virtual machine<br />

to emulate a FICON CTCA.<br />

vdev<br />

AS vdev<br />

identifies the virtual device number of the CTCA you are defining.<br />

userid<br />

USER userid<br />

identifies the user that you will permit to connect to this CTCA using the<br />

COUPLE comm<strong>and</strong>. If you do not specify userid, you are not restricting any<br />

user ID from connecting.<br />

* can be used to specify your own user ID.<br />
