Use SET TIMEBOMB to turn on and off the dynamic virtual machine time bomb.
The time bomb is a mechanism for allowing a virtual machine to cause an action to
be performed if it becomes unresponsive.
ON
OFF
ON specifies that the virtual machine time bomb facility is to operate normally.
OFF specifies that the virtual machine time bomb facility is to operate normally
except that the time bomb is disabled.
1. With the time bomb disabled, detection of an unresponsive condition does not
cause the associated action to be performed. In all other respects, the time
bomb facility appears to the virtual machine to be operating normally.
2. It may be convenient to disable the time bomb when debugging a virtual
machine application, where delays caused by the debugging functions may
exceed the time bomb timeout interval.
3. An application establishes a time bomb using DIAGNOSE X'0288'. See z/VM:
