Use this SET RDEVICE comm<strong>and</strong> to tell <strong>CP</strong> the device addresses of certain types<br />

of devices.<br />

rdev<br />

rdev1-rdev2<br />

specifies one or more real device numbers to be defined or changed. Each rdev<br />

specified must be a hexadecimal number between X'0000' <strong>and</strong> X'FFFF'. The<br />

maximum number of devices allowed within a range is 256.<br />

TYpe<br />

specifies the type of device.<br />

CTCa<br />

is a Channel-to-Channel device.<br />

SENSed<br />

NOTSENSed<br />

SET RDEVICE Special Devices<br />

Note: Specify the 3737 Remote Channel-to-Channel Unit Model 2 as a<br />

CTCA.<br />

F<strong>CP</strong><br />

is a Fiber-Channel-Protocol device.<br />

HIPERSockets<br />

is a HiperSockets device. To obtain status for a HiperSockets device, issue<br />

a Query OSA comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

LAN_ADAPTer<br />

is a channel-attached 8232 or 3172 representing a local area network.<br />

OSA<br />

is an Open-Systems-Adapter device.<br />

SENSed<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> to use the information returned from a sense ID device comm<strong>and</strong> to<br />

determine the characteristics of this device. If omitted, the default is SENSED.<br />

NOTSENSed<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> not to use the information returned from a sense ID device comm<strong>and</strong><br />

to determine the characteristics of this comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />
