Messages<br />

Devices comm<strong>and</strong>. Because the device is unsupported, you must explicitly<br />

define that device. For information about the DEVICES statement, see the<br />

z/<strong>VM</strong>: <strong>CP</strong> Planning <strong>and</strong> Administration book.<br />

5. The SET RDEVICE comm<strong>and</strong> cannot be used to change the device definition of<br />

any device that has a static device definition in H<strong>CP</strong>RIO.<br />

After <strong>CP</strong> has issued one of the following messages for each device address, the<br />

following summary response is displayed:<br />

xxx RDEV(s) specified; yyy RDEV(s) changed; zzz RDEV(s) created<br />

Note: <strong>CP</strong> issues one of the following messages for each device address affected<br />

by a SET RDEVICE comm<strong>and</strong>. These two messages indicate that the SET<br />

RDEVICE comm<strong>and</strong> succeeded:<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>6722I The variations of this message are as<br />

follows:<br />

v Created RDEV for device rdev.<br />

Note: The following messages indicate that the SET RDEVICE comm<strong>and</strong> failed:<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>1550E Device rdev device class does not<br />

match requested device class.<br />

v Device rdev is not offline.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>6580E Device rdev is active<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>6760E The variations of this message are as<br />

follows:<br />

v Device rdev is not offline.<br />

v Device rdev is boxed.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>6765E Device rdev cannot be changed<br />

because of an old H<strong>CP</strong>RIO definitfon.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>6862E Device rdev cannot be changed or<br />

deleted because it is a base Parallel<br />

Access Volume for which an alias<br />

exists.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>6870E Device rdev is attached to a guest<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>6895E RDEV rdev cannot be changed or<br />

deleted because it is static device<br />

definition from H<strong>CP</strong>RIO<br />
