SET PSWTRans allows you to issue DISPLAY, DUMP, <strong>and</strong> STORE <strong>CP</strong> <strong>Comm<strong>and</strong>s</strong><br />

with the PSW option (instead of the PSWG option) <strong>and</strong> get results as if you had<br />

used the PSWG option. This is valid only on z/Architecture machines.<br />

With PSWTRans enabled, z/Architecture mode exp<strong>and</strong>s 64-bit PSW display <strong>and</strong><br />

store data into 128-bit PSWs.<br />

OFF<br />

indicates that the PSW option is not allowed for the DISPLAY, DUMP or STORE<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>s when the virtual machine is in z/Architecture mode.<br />

ALL<br />

indicates that the PSW option will be accepted for the DISPLAY, DUMP <strong>and</strong><br />

STORE comm<strong>and</strong>s to reference or change PSW data in the 64-bit ESA/390<br />

format when the virtual machine is in z/Architecture mode (64-bit PSW<br />

displayed <strong>and</strong> 64-bits accepted on STORE).<br />

DISPLAY<br />

indicates that the PSW option will be accepted for the DISPLAY <strong>and</strong> DUMP<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>s (but not STORE) to reference PSW data in the 64-bit ESA/390<br />

format when the virtual machine is in z/Architecture mode.<br />

STORE<br />

indicates that the PSW option will be accepted for the STORE comm<strong>and</strong> (but<br />

not DISPLAY or DUMP) to exp<strong>and</strong> PSW data in the 64-bit ESA/390 format<br />

when the virtual machine is in z/Architecture mode.<br />

1. The PSWTRANS option is set to OFF when a user logs on <strong>and</strong> is not changed<br />

unless the user issues a SET PSWTRANS comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

2. To obtain the setting of the PSWTRANS option, use the QUERY PSWTRANS<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />
