Status<br />

Use SET PRODUCT to define a product or feature to the z/<strong>VM</strong> system <strong>and</strong> state<br />

whether the product can run on the system.<br />

v Allows the user to dynamically add PRODUCT statements to the running system.<br />

v Allows the user to change the state or description of an existing PRODUCT<br />

statement.<br />

v Enables a user to DELETE <strong>and</strong> existing PRODUCT statement.<br />

SET PRODUCT<br />

PRODID vmses_prodid<br />

is the identifier used by <strong>VM</strong>SES/E to install <strong>and</strong> service the given product.<br />

vmses_prodid must be 7 or 8 characters.<br />

STATE ENabled<br />

identifies this product or feature as being licensed to execute on this system.<br />

When a product is defined with STATE ENABLED, it indicates that the product<br />

is authorized by the installation to run on this system. It does not mean that the<br />

product is installed or is being used.<br />

STATE DISAbled<br />

identifies this product or feature as not being licensed to execute on this<br />

system. The product may or may not be physically installed on the system.<br />

DESCRiption string<br />

is a string of data that identifies additional information regarding the product.<br />

string is a 1-255 character string (including any imbedded blanks <strong>and</strong> special<br />

characters associated with the vmses_prodid entered.<br />

DELete<br />

removes from the system any definition information for the product ID,<br />

vmses_prodid. Description information stored with the PRODUCT statement<br />

<strong>and</strong> the current STATE information is lost.<br />
