Privilege Class: A<br />

Use SET MAXUSERS to control the number of users able to log on.<br />

nnnnn<br />

is the maximum number of users allowed to log on. The range is between 1<br />

<strong>and</strong> 99999.<br />

OFF<br />

indicates that an unlimited number of users can log on.<br />

1. If the maximum number of users is set to a number lower than the current<br />

number of logged-on users, the system allows the users to log off, to be forced<br />

off the system, <strong>and</strong> to disconnect <strong>and</strong> reconnect. However, it does not allow any<br />

users to log on until the current number of logged on users is lower than the<br />

number specified by MAXUSERS unless the user directory for the virtual<br />

machine that is logging on was created with the IGNMAXU oper<strong>and</strong> of the<br />

OPTION control statement.<br />

Response 1:<br />

MAXUSERS = nnnnn<br />

is the normal response for this comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

Response 2:<br />

REQUEST ACCEPTED. MAXIMUM USERS VALUE IS CURRENTLY EXCEEDED<br />

is returned when the number of users already logged on exceeds the limit just set.<br />

Response 3:<br />

THE MAXUSERS LIMIT CHECKING HAS BEEN TURNED OFF<br />

is returned when SET MAXUSERS OFF is entered <strong>and</strong> the maxusers limit was on.<br />

Response 4:<br />

NO MAXUSERS LIMIT IS SET<br />

SET MAXUSERS<br />

is returned when SET MAXUSERS OFF is entered <strong>and</strong> the maxusers limit was<br />

already off.<br />
