3. The maximum number of lines you can include in your log message is 50,<br />

including blank lines; the highest line number in the log message is 50.<br />

4. If you specify a line number with nothing following it (for example, SET<br />

LOGMSG nn), the system prompts you to enter a line of text. The text entered<br />

is placed in the log message at the line specified in the comm<strong>and</strong>. If you press<br />

ENTER without entering any text, the line is deleted from the log message.<br />

5. Enter SET LOGMSG 0 to allow yourself to insert a new line into the log up to a<br />

maximum of 50 lines.<br />

6. If the text of a line in the log message does not start with an asterisk (*), the<br />

user must enter QUERY LOGMSG to see the text. (The text is not displayed<br />

automatically when the user logs on to the system.)<br />

7. If more than 76 characters of text are entered for a line, the text is truncated<br />

after the 76th character without any message being issued.<br />

8. The LOGMSG area is checkpointed at system termination.<br />
