Use SET DEVICES to define or change the way <strong>CP</strong> h<strong>and</strong>les specific devices after<br />

initialization.<br />

Note: Before using this comm<strong>and</strong>, you must enable it by specifying a FEATURES<br />

ENABLE SET_DEVICES statement in your system configuration file. See<br />

z/<strong>VM</strong>: <strong>CP</strong> Planning <strong>and</strong> Administration for more information on the<br />

FEATURES statement.<br />

ACCEPTed<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> to accept the specified device or devices.<br />

SET DEVICES<br />

rdev<br />

rdev-rdev<br />

is the real device number of the device or devices that you are affecting. The<br />

variable rdev must be a hexadecimal number between X'0000' <strong>and</strong> X'FFFF'.<br />

You can specify a single device, a range of devices, or any combination thereof.<br />

NOTACCEPTed<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> not to accept the specified device or devices when the device(s) is<br />

dynamically added to <strong>VM</strong> from another partition. When <strong>VM</strong> is running second<br />

level it will prevent a device(s) from being accepted when a device is attached<br />

to the virtual machine in which <strong>VM</strong> is running. If <strong>VM</strong> dynamically defines a<br />

device for its own partition the NOTACCEPTed designation is overridden.<br />

DYNamic_i/o<br />

tells <strong>CP</strong> to allow dynamic I/O changes on the specified device or devices.<br />

Note: If you want to allow dynamic I/O changes on any devices, do not forget<br />

to specify FEATURES ENABLE DYNAMIC_I/O in your system<br />

configuration file. This FEATURES oper<strong>and</strong> enables or disables dynamic<br />

I/O changes for your system’s processor. So, if you do not enable<br />
