VLAN awareness
indicates whether the VSWITCH is VLAN-aware or VLAN-unaware.
Default VLAN nnnn
indicates the default VLAN ID to be associated with untagged frames. This is
only displayed for VLAN-aware virtual switches.
Default Porttype type
indicates the default porttype attribute for guests authorized for the VSWITCH.
This is only displayed for VLAN-aware virtual switches.
State
indicates the current state of the VSWITCH. For more information about the
states, see “Usage Notes” on page 1141.
IPTimeout
nnn indicates the length of time in minutes that a remote IP address table entry
remains in the IP address table for the Virtual Switch.
QueueStorage
nnn is the maximum amount of fixed storage that CP will allocate for QDIO
queues used for data transfer.
Portname
is the portname assigned to the adapter. The value ″UNASSIGNED″ is
displayed if no portname has been assigned.
RDEV
nnn indicates the base real device address of the QDIO device attached to the
VSWITCH or specified as an alternate real device address. If the value ″Error″
is displayed next to the RDEV address, the device cannot be attached, and the
problem has to be corrected. Where possible, an explanation for the error is
included. Examine the operator console and the console of the z/VM TCP/IP
stack controller for more information about the error. Error explanations may
include:
v Portname conflict
v No Layer 2
v No RDEV
v RDEV attached
v Not QDIO OSA-E
v Initialization
v Stalled OSA-E
v Stalled controller
v Path severed
v Routing conflict
v Offline
