vdev
vdev1-vdev2
Privilege Class: G
Use QUERY (virtual device) to display the status of devices accessible to your
virtual machine. These devices may be located at a specific virtual device number
or located in a range of virtual device numbers.
vdev
vdev1-vdev2
identifies the device or range of virtual device numbers for devices whose
status is to be displayed.
DETAILS
displays additional information for the specified virtual device or range of
devices.
1. The DETAILS option is meaningful only for dedicated DASDs, or minidisk
DASDs, on a cache subsystem. The responses for devices other than DASD, if
specified, remain the same.
For devices not listed below, see the QUERY (individual device type) command
description for their response formats.

DETAILS
Responses you receive depend on the type of device located at the device number
you specify. These responses are included in the QUERY VIRTUAL commands for
those devices.
You receive this response if the device is one of the following:
v 3705 Communications Controller
v A Mass Storage Controller
v A virtual 270x line
v Message Device
v A miscellaneous device (one not explicitly described in the QUERY VIRTUAL
family of commands).

type
identifies the virtual device type; it can be any of the following:
