Use QUERY UR to display the status of unit record devices.<br />

ACTive<br />

indicates the active unit record devices. An active device is one in use by a<br />

user or the system, <strong>and</strong> specified as neither FREE nor OFFLINE. ACTIVE is the<br />

default.<br />

ALL<br />

indicates all devices of the type specified. The status is displayed in ACTIVE,<br />

FREE, <strong>and</strong> OFFLINE order, <strong>and</strong> is equivalent to the response you would<br />

receive if you entered all of the following comm<strong>and</strong>s:<br />

query ur active<br />

query ur free<br />

query ur offline<br />

1064 z/<strong>VM</strong>: <strong>CP</strong> <strong>Comm<strong>and</strong>s</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Utilities</strong> <strong>Reference</strong><br />

ATTach userid<br />

indicates the devices that are dedicated to a user on the system. If you specify<br />

userid, only devices attached to that user’s virtual machine are indicated. If you<br />

do not specify userid, you receive the status of all unit record devices dedicated<br />

to any user on the system. Attached devices are always active.<br />

BOXed<br />

indicates the unit record devices that are unavailable, usually because of a<br />

hardware condition. A boxed device may also be ACTIVE, FREE, or OFFLINE.<br />

FREe<br />

indicates the free unit record devices. A free device is one not currently in use<br />

by a user or the system, <strong>and</strong> specified as neither ACTIVE nor OFFLINE.<br />

OFFline<br />

indicates the offline unit record devices. An offline device is one specified as<br />

neither ACTIVE nor FREE.<br />

SYStem<br />

indicates the unit record devices in use by the system. A system device is<br />

always active.<br />
