The “Paper Boat” aims to raise awareness about the Global Water Management crisis that we
are currently facing, navigating the conflicting needs arising from economic development,
food security, poverty alleviation and climate change.
844 Million people have no access to safe water. Women and girls spend upto 6 hours a day
collecting water. Back home the drought situation in Maharashtra SHEET and CNC related CUT farmer suicides
have been labelled as “man-made droughts”. Water Management is a serious concern

The “Paper Boat” critiques our consumption patterns, calls out for citizen awareness, sensitivity
towards the usage of our natural resources with utmost care and the dire need to harness
them to full potential for the benefit of future generations.
GLUING PACKAGING UNPACK
The “Paper Boat” is a world record attempt to create the largest cardboard structure. The
cardboard structure admeasuring 88’0” Length x 25’0” Wide x 9’0” is fully deployable and
comprises of 3050 interlocking CNC pieces. The cardboard sheet size used is 50 x 60 inches
and is double layered 5ply – 6 mm thk. Cardboard is a recyclable, cost effective sustainable
material that can be potentially used for larger architecture and engineered structures. The
structure is designed completely with cardboard using zero external material reinforcement
