Use the following steps to calculate any one of the statistics listed in the dialog box

entitled Basic Statistics, using the following data:

Solution:

Enter the data in column C1 of the data window.

1. Select Stat from the command menu.

2. Click on Basic Statistics > Display Descriptive Statistics from the pull-down menus

available under the Stat command menus (see Figure B.4).

3. Enter C1 in the box below Variables and click the statistics button to choose the

statistic to be calculated.

4. Click OK. The Minitab output will appear in the session widow as shown in

Figure B.4.

Graphs

From the menu bar select Graph and then the graph of choice. Some of the choices

include scatter plot, histogram, dot plot, box plot, bar chart, stem-and-leaf, time

series plot, pie chart, and others. We discuss some of these graphs below.
