Blacktown Mount Druitt Hospital, a member of the Western Sydney Local Health<br />

District (WSLHD), is a culturally diverse leading tertiary care hospital renowned<br />

internationally for excellence in patient care, training of healthcare professionals,<br />

research and innovation. The hospital is committed to providing the highest quality<br />

of health care to the people we serve in a compassionate and respectful manner.<br />

Blacktown Mount Druitt hospital works in a unique partnership to provide health<br />

care to residents in the Blacktown LGA. Each year, across the Blacktown and Mount<br />

Druitt Hospital Campuses there is treatment of more than 85,000 people in<br />

Emergency Department, care of approximately 31,400 patients staying at least one<br />

night in hospital, performance of 9,900 surgical procedures, provision of 214,000<br />

outpatient services and assistance with the birth of more than 3,700 babies.<br />

Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals are two hospital campuses that function<br />

as one. Mount Druitt has a busy emergency department and relatively<br />

subacute adult inpatient services while Blacktown is where most patients are<br />

transferred to from Mount Druitt if they need acute admission<br />

Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals are located in the Blacktown Local<br />

Government Area which is one of the most rapidly growing areas in New South<br />

Wales. It is home to a multicultural population with the largest Aboriginal Torres<br />

Strait Islander population in Greater Western Sydney and migrants from India,
