The 2023 edition of the AMSA Internship Guide is now available to read! This is the AMSA guide for the 2024 clinical year. This guide could not have been possible without the contribution of medical students, hospital management teams, interns, AMA and many other people volunteering their time to update the information. For example, we have added eight new health networks across all states and territories to the internship guide. Good luck to the class of 2023! We hope that the information within this guide can be beneficial for you during your internship applications. BASIC INFORMATION<br />
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is responsible for providing<br />
community health and hospital care for people living in the Blue Mountains,<br />
Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care<br />
to residents of the Greater Western Region.<br />
The Local Health District consists of both urban and semi-rural areas, covering<br />
almost 9,179 square kilometres and an estimated resident population of almost<br />
350,000 people.<br />
Nepean Hospital is located in Kingswood NSW, and is a 530 bed Tertiary Referral<br />
Hospital, 50 km from the centre of Sydney and a 45 minute drive.
