This guide could not have been possible without the contribution of medical students, hospital management teams, interns, AMA and many other people volunteering their time to update the information. For example, we have added eight new health networks across all states and territories to the internship guide.

training but have added programs for those interested in General Practice,<br />

other specialty areas from Radiology to Public Health, or careers which take a<br />

more creative direction or embed research. These programs offer education,<br />

skills development, mentorship, research opportunities and the chance to use<br />

your Professional Development Leave for Observerships in your area of interest,<br />

such as Paediatrics at PCH – just across the road. Charlies, OPH and JHC provide<br />

specifically structured intern teaching to complement the numerous teaching<br />

opportunities available throughout the week aimed at JMOs through to<br />

Consultants. Our proximity to PCH allows JMOs to attend the paediatric<br />

educational sessions. A wide variety of teaching methods are used, likely to<br />

meet your needs, no matter what your learning style. We also offer highly<br />

specialised small group training, small group bedside signs rounds and interprofessional<br />

simulation training. We also provide remote access to learning<br />

sessions and recorded sessions.<br />

We were excited to open the Medical Education Simulation Centre at Charlies<br />

which houses two high fidelity simulation suites, a specialty skills part-task<br />

training room, and more. The state of the art audio-visual recording and debrief<br />

system will allow users to record to assist with feedback and teaching.<br />

SCGOPHCG and Medical Education recognise and value the overall wellbeing<br />

of our JMOs, aiming to foster open communication between juniors and<br />

seniors. We take both preventive and problem solving approaches and work<br />

closely with an active Charlies RMO Society. Clinical debriefing sessions,<br />

mindfulness sessions, mentoring and buddying programs are some<br />

opportunities for all.<br />

A confidential and supportive program is available for any junior doctors<br />

requiring support in any way.<br />
