The 2023 edition of the AMSA Internship Guide is now available to read! This is the AMSA guide for the 2024 clinical year. This guide could not have been possible without the contribution of medical students, hospital management teams, interns, AMA and many other people volunteering their time to update the information. For example, we have added eight new health networks across all states and territories to the internship guide. Good luck to the class of 2023! We hope that the information within this guide can be beneficial for you during your internship applications. If you have any queries or feedback about the guide, please do not hesitate to email pdo@amsa.org.au.

WA RURAL TRAINING
There will be intern positions available through WA Country Health Service
Rural options for metropolitan-based interns also remain available with interns for
one or more term rotations at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, Sir
Charles Gairdner Hospital or Joondalup Health Campus. The application process
for these positions requires selecting WACHS as the Primary Employing Health
Service (PEHS) when submitting an application through the PMCWA
(Postgraduate Medical Council of WA) centralised recruitment process. Two
pathways are available (in addition to standard application process).
more rural rotations across WACHS
4. State your interest in a rural internship with WACHS and provide permission
for your application to be provided to WACHS to collaboratively assess the
