to the Mountains (M2M) program supply Interns to Northeast Health Wangaratta<br />

on rotation. Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) has strong links with the Murray<br />

City Country Coast (MCCC) GP Training Network<br />

BASIC INFORMATION<br />

NHW is a leading healthcare service committed to providing high quality care for<br />

our community. Our facility is a modern 222 bed hospital providing emergency and<br />

elective clinical services to a primary catchment of 28,000 people and a secondary<br />

catchment of approximately 100,000. NHW is a major referral facility for the Central<br />

Hume Region with a budget in excess of $100 million and employs over 1,200<br />

dedicated employees. The hospital is located at the foot of the Australian Alps on<br />

the Hume Highway, and is a designated Regional Trauma Service.<br />

REASONS TO APPLY<br />

HW offers supervision by trained specialists, a supportive environment with<br />

dedicated multi-disciplinary teams, and an excellent teaching program. Interns<br />

at NHW can expect to develop strong mentor relationships with their senior<br />

colleagues, and gain excellent hands-on experience, including procedural<br />

experience. NHW has strong relationships with metropolitan specialist training<br />

networks in Physicians training, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, General Surgery &<br />

Orthopaedics, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care & Paediatrics<br />

Weekly JMO education programs are provided to interns and residents by the<br />

NHW Education & Research Unit in liaison with the University of Melbourne and<br />

workshops are available through the Murray to Mountains Program and the<br />

Goulburn Valley Regional Training Hub<br />

Outside of work, the Northeast Region of Victoria is hard to beat, with<br />

Wangaratta just a stones-throw from award winning food & wine regions,<br />

national parks, and the Victorian Ski Fields<br />
