NETWORK TRAINING SITES<br />

Angliss Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah Hospital, Peter James Centre,<br />

Wantirna Health, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service.<br />

ROTATIONS AVAILABLE<br />

All acute sites provide rotations in General Medicine, General Surgery and<br />

Emergency Medicine. Other rotations include Aged care, Rehabilitation, Renal<br />

medicine, Orthopaedics and Psychiatry (which includes Adult inpatient unit,<br />

Adolescent inpatient unit, Aged care psychiatry or Consultation liaison service<br />

rotations). Our rural partner is Bairnsdale Regional Health Service.<br />

BASIC INFORMATION<br />

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest metropolitan health services. We<br />

provide a range of Emergency, Medical, Surgical, Mental Health and Women’s and<br />

Children’s services to Melbourne’s diverse eastern community. We provide services<br />

for more than 800,000 people across an area of approximately 2,800 square<br />

kilometres.<br />

conducted over 5 days and includes a 2 day immersion experience<br />

The health service has a high quality postgraduate medical education program<br />

and is committed to providing a great learning experience for its Junior Medical<br />

Staff; with support from senior clinicians throughout the service, the<br />

Postgraduate Medical Education Unit - Medical Education Officers (MEO’s) and<br />

Supervisors of Junior Doctor Training (SJDT)<br />

At Eastern Health, there is a range of learning opportunities for Junior Medical<br />

Staff such as Grand Rounds, case meetings, weekly Intern tutorial program and<br />

its own medical podcast called “Thrive”<br />

Throughout the network there is access to Clinicians Health Channel, online<br />

library services and various other internet-based resources<br />
