BASIC INFORMATION<br />

Bendigo Health is the largest employer in the region with more than 5,000 staff and 300<br />

volunteers. Bendigo Health Care Group (commonly known as Bendigo Health), is an<br />

expanding regional health service offering the advantages of city life combined with the<br />

beauty and freedom that comes from living in a regional area.<br />

Bendigo Health recently moved into a brand new world class hospital, the largest regional<br />

hospital in Victoria. It features 372 inpatient beds, 72 same-day acute beds, an 80 bed<br />

integrated psychiatric inpatient unit (including a parent-infant unit), 11 operating theatres, a<br />

regional integrated Cancer Centre, a 110 place childcare centre, a 128 room<br />

accommodation facility, as well as retail shops and cafes. There is also a multi-storey car<br />

park, a conference facility and a helipad. The organisation provides services in emergency,<br />

maternity, women’s health, medical imaging, pathology, rehabilitation, community<br />

services, residential aged care, psychiatric care, community dental, hospice/ palliative care,<br />

cardiology, cancer services and renal dialysis to the people of the Loddon Mallee region.<br />
