BASIC INFORMATION<br />

The region encompasses Geelong to Colac and out to the Great Ocean Road. The region is<br />

renowned for its farms and beautiful coastline, national parks and Aboriginal cultural<br />

heritage sites. The region offers an innovative training program focusing on rural and<br />

community medicine. There is a strong emphasis on medical education, which is provided<br />

through tutorials, case presentations, and education in association with the Western<br />

Victoria Rural Training Hub. The program is extremely supportive to junior doctors,<br />

providing training support and mentorships.<br />

All of the positions are based at South West Healthcare in Warrnambool. A snapshot of the<br />

benefits of being in a VRGP position is experience in General Practice at the Western<br />

Regional Alcohol and Drug Centre, support from the Regional Coordinator & VRGP Clinical<br />

Leads and the benefit of being on a Nationally recognised pathway.<br />
