This guide could not have been possible without the contribution of medical students, hospital management teams, interns, AMA and many other people volunteering their time to update the information. There's also Capricorn Coast Community Hospital (40 kms from Rockhampton)<br />
and Rural GP (through RJDTIF) at Emerald Medical Group and Theodore Medical.<br />
BASIC INFORMATION<br />
The hospital and surrounding sites provide career development and high support<br />
for pastoral care and advocacy. There is an MEU open door policy, formal junior<br />
doctor education in each specialty, formal intern teaching each week with<br />
curriculum mapped to ACFJD and intern outcome statements, governance<br />
structures enable an active role for junior doctors in their education and training<br />
programs. There is a face-to-face careers expo held annually in May. Also, there is an<br />
active RMO society for collegial support and to build friendships and a Near to Peer<br />
mentoring program.<br />
Reasons to apply include opportunities to develop into leadership positions and<br />
research capabilities which contribute to CV building.<br />
