IPOs also present great opportunities for capital gains, for investors have the chance to make substantial profits through IPOs because the stock price of a recently-listed company can experience significant growth during the initial days and weeks after the IPO, offering an attractive prospect for short-term investment gains. Recently, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) introduced the eIPO Investor Portal, which offers a straightforward, speedy, and hasslefree approach to completing the IPO subscription process. As long as an investor has a valid NIN (National Investor Number) and an active bank account with any UAE bank, they can apply for the IPO through the eIPO Investor Portal. Investors can also subscribe to the IPO through the portal or any of the receiving banks that are participating in the IPO. For instance, ADNOC Gas witnessed a significant increase in its gains and capital profits, surpassing AED 33.8B ($9.2B) on its initial day of trading following the recent IPO launch at Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange. The company’s market capitalization jumped from AED 181.9B ($50B) to AED 215.6B ($58.7B) by the end of the trading session, with a closing price of AED 2.81 per share, marking an 18.6% rise compared to the final offering price. In the first trading day, there was a high level of activity, with 276.2 million shares worth AED 781.9M exchanged through 8,921 executed trades. Furthermore, Presight AI, a company under G42 and a major player in big data analytics driven by artificial intelligence in the region, has recently revealed that its IPO has been fully subscribed. The IPO has garnered a gross demand of AED 94.9B ($25.8B), and in total, it was oversubscribed by 136 times, excluding the International Holding Company’s commitment as the cornerstone investor. Thomas Pramotedham, the CEO of Presight AI, expressed his pleasure at the great interest shown by both retail and professional investors in the company’s IPO. On the other hand, Nasdaq Dubai’s operating region has expanded its financing options by accessing the global capital markets through various types of traditional bonds such as Floating Rate Notes (FRNs) and Medium-term Notes (MTNs). These conventional bonds, including Euro Medium Term Notes (EMTN) from leading UAE banks and a Medium Term Note (MTN) from a significant Dubai Government corporate entity, are listed with a total nominal value of $4B. These bonds offer several benefits to investors, such as the regular income stream through coupon payments. It is also considered a safe investment; if a company goes bankrupt, debt holders are generally ahead of shareholders in the queue to be paid. Additionally, Dubai Financial Market offers several investment opportunities, including investing in assets such as company shares, bonds, and futures, which can help investors build wealth far more effectively than saving alone. Moreover, Dubai is ranked number one in attracting foreign direct investment in the Middle East and North Africa, with $3.73B in 2021. It is also a global leader in the Islamic economy, with $81.2B Sukuk listed as of 2022 and 62% of global Sukuk issuances originating in the UAE in 2020. Overall, the UAE stock market offers promising investment opportunities to investors with a diverse mix of local and international companies in various sectors. Investing in the market can provide attractive returns, but investors should also carefully consider their investment objectives and risk tolerance. Subscribing to IPOs, investing in bonds, and other investment opportunities can help investors build wealth and achieve their long-term financial goals.
