Chapter 2
THE PROJECT PROMOTERS
The project has been conceived by a partnership between two giants in the
construction and property development industries respectively. They are on the one
hand the Société O.P. Ramdenee that owns the land of 10 ha and on the other hand
Mr. Terzino Criseo also known as Toni Criseo from Country Home Ltd who is the
investor and who has more than 30 years of experience in the business of property
development in the prestigious places in France such as the Cote D’Azur. Mr. Criseo
is also an influential member of the reputed Lion’s club.
The Société O.P Ramdenee who owns, manages and operates three companies
namely; Trio Development Ltd, Trio Mix Ltd and Trio Meshco Ltd has an established
reputation in the construction industry in Mauritius especially in roads and drains
constructions. This group started its activities at Pointe aux Piments as early as 1972
under the leadership of Mr. O. Ramdenee and at a time when no infrastructure was
available around the site. At that time the main activity was stone crushing for
producing aggregates. Since then the owner has strived gradually towards the
upgrading of its processes and diversifying its business into the production of Readymix
concrete, asphalt, block making, precast decorative blocks and welded mesh
fabric. The business employs over 200 workers in office as well as on site.
The other partner is Country Home Ltd, represented by Mr. Terzino Criseo, also
known as Toni Criseo, who has an outstanding lifetime achievement in this type of
project. Mr. Tony Criseo, who is of French nationality, has been involved in this type
of activity since 1976. He is well-known in the region of the Cote D’Azur in France
where he has executed hundreds of high standards real estate developments in that
chic area. He has participated in many real estate forums in Europe such as at
Cannes, London, Dusseldorf, Milan, Paris and Brussels among others. Mr T. Criseo
has an indefectible liking to social projects and has been the Vice-President of the
Lions Club of Mennecy-Val d’Essone. He is also active in the business environment
promoting exchanges between France and China. Mr. T. Criseo has visited this
island on numerous occasions and has a deep appreciation of the Mauritian
environment. He did not miss the opportunity to embark on the present one. The
present partners have joined forces and set up a company for the purpose of that
RES1 project, namely Société Immobiliere de Pointe aux Piments (SIPP) Ltd.
This company has been duly registered and will inter alia, be responsible to
conceptualize the project, hire the services of professionals for the design and
supervision of the implementation, administer the project, set up bodies to market the
product, set up a body to operate and manage the site after completion of the works.
