Excelsior is a high quality pickling cucumber for both open field and unheated greenhouse
production in spring and fall. It has an open and vigorous plant habit, with fruits that are
medium to dark green and 4-5 in. (10-13 cm) in length.

All Vitalis cucumbers have all female flowers and are parthenocarpic (fruits can set without pollination).
The robust cucumber program offered by Vitalis is entirely
“gynoecious” and “parthenocarpic”, meaning that the
varieties produce only female flowers and do not require
pollination by insects. Ideal for high tunnel, open field and
greenhouse environments, the broad assortment of long-
European, slicer and mini types all feature high yield, great
taste, strong disease resistance and are labor friendly.
