Welcome to The Old World:ForewordGrim and Perilous!We have been fans of Warhammer Fantasy for about 20 years now. 1st edition of WFRP was ourvery first roleplaying game and to this day, it holds an incredibly special place in our hearts. In2019, when the revised version of the famous Enemy Within came out, we were absolutely surewe want to try this campaign again. However, while 4th edition of WFRP is an amazing gameand we truly love it (and in this Rulebook you will find some game mechanics heavily inspiredby the 4th edition), this time we wanted something more narrative. The 3rd edition was beyondour reach, but we already had some experience with Genesys, so we decided to try it. While ingeneral the game mechanics seemed good, our first attempt of conversion failed miserably. Itwas overly complicated, clunky and had so many exceptions and special rules, it turned out almostunplayable. After countless iterations and throwing out over 90% of our work, we finallyhad something good. Something we would like to share with RPG community.By publishing our work, we don't mean any harm or challenge to any copyrights held by GamesWorkshop, Cubicle 7, Edge Studios, or anyone else. Consider The Old World: Grim and Perilousto be our tribute to Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and roleplaying games in general. We hopeyou have fun while reading this book and playing during your game sessions.About this ProductThis is an unofficial, free fan-made expansion for all of you who love Genesys and the worldof Warhammer Fantasy. It combines some of the best game mechanics of Warhammer FantasyRoleplay editions 1-4, while keeping the simplicity known from the basic Genesys rules. Itadds many new talents and skills, new career creation and specialization options, new rules formagic, corruption and social status. The expansion is light in fluff, so you need to have originalWarhammer's rulebooks and adventures to be able to fully explore the fantastic world ofWarhammer Fantasy. However, feel free to use this supplement to create your own heroic darkfantasy setting as it adds plenty of new talents, weapons, gear and many other things which mayimprove your game sessions.What do I need to play?As always, you will need the Genesys Core Rulebook, a bunch of narrative dice (or an app) anda group of friends, but the expansion relies heavily on Realms of Terrinoth in terms of weapons,gear, some talents and crafting rules. It also uses (but to a lesser extent) the Expanded Player'sGuide, especially for specialization trees, magic talents and new magic spells, so we advise tohave these two books as well. Additionally, as mentioned earlier, we do not provide the gamesetting and adventures other than "The Circle", so Warhammer Fantasy rulebooks (preferablythe 4th edition, which are now easy to get) are necessary to use this suplement to play in WarhammerFantasy setting.The Old World: Grim and Perilous 5
