Welcome to the latest edition of the Sussex Exclusive
magazine. It feels like it’s been a long winter, but at
last, the blossom is out, the evenings are getting lighter,
and I’m delighted once more to be able to share lots of
Sussex delights.
Recently voted as the UK’s top destination, in this edition we’ve been
exploring Eastbourne. It’s a town I knew in my youth, and has a wonderful
combination of history, long open beaches, arts and eateries. I hope you
enjoy re-discovering it as much as I have.
Good food and drink are always close to my heart, so we’ve got our usual
foodie section in this edition with news of local producers, places to eat,
Sussex cocktails and Sussex recipes. So grab a fork and get stuck in. And
when you’ve finished, why not head out and try one of our fabulous
Sussex walks.
For the green fingered amongst you, we have news from Geoff Stonebanks
of Driftwood by Sea and the National Garden Scheme. And for the more
cultural amongst you, we have our usual selection of things to do, with some
great events coming up.
And of course, in this edition, we have our brand-new wedding section
which is packed with ideas for everything from venues to affordable (but
gorgeous) dresses, beauty tips and planning advice. And best wishes to all of
you planning a Sussex wedding this year. You are spoilt for choice here.
I rarely leave Sussex these days (after all, why would you when we have so
much on offer), but Janine Marsh from The Good Life France has been
exploring Corsica for us and wow, it looks gorgeous, so if you are planning
an overseas holiday, it’s definitely worth a read.
We’ve got lots more in the following pages, so grab a coffee or a glass of
Sussex wine, pull up a chair, and dig in. I hope you enjoy reading this edition
as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together.
